I'm a Bogan and am originally from Wisconsin. My father, Daniel H. Bogan, and his mother, Doris Bogan. I believe his father was Wayne Bogan... but I've never met him.
I'm a Bogan, and I live in San Diego, Ca. My Father's family came to San Diego in the 1930's from Long Prairie, Minnesota. The only other Bogan's that I know are part of my Family.
James Bogan fron Ohio---just got back from Donegal>> my father Edward Bogan was born on Main Street, Donegal Town on Nov.11th, 1899- had twelve brothers and sisters>> two died in World War 1. The rest came to American around 1920 to 1928 at various times. My dads mom was Mary Mc Andrews and married John Bogan a shoemaker from Donegal. He was some 40 years older. Grandfather died around 1937 in the USA. Grandmother lived to age 93 and died in New Jersey around 1965. My father Edward Bogan married Mary Mc Kim from Glasgow, Scotland>> here in New Jersey around 1925 and had 12 kids/ i am one of them.
Bogan is a name with prestige. history indicates that it originated in England. Possibly from bow makers. I am a Bogan, Will, from South Florida. My family moved here in the early 1950'sfrom New York; so not a long history. My father, George, came from New York. His father, Joseph, emigrated from Russia. I do not know if this was an Ellis Island name for immigrants. Most of our family are college graduates, and contributors to our society. Go Bogans'!!!! I'm proud of the name.
